Pascal says that the unhappiness stems from the fact that the man cannot sit quietly in his room. So I started my journey in India.
I intended for this photo story to pursue the feeling of loneliness in people. As I found out, it was the feeling of loneliness that pursued me and was impossible to avoid. At some point everyone realizes their solitary existence in the world, and the world that has forgotten them. 
My own walk in Varanassi certainly was not a trip to an exotic place with a goal some tourist pictures. What I could not photograph to "here", I escaped to find it to the "elsewhere".
